Hey, I am Suchitra
A passionate engineer aiming to
transform the Healthcare Industry with
Information & Automation
M.S Health Informatics
B.Tech Computer Science
But first, let's acknowledge the
Challenges
Most Healthcare institutions continue to lack comprehensive electronic patient records, especially for the vulnerable populations who are uninsured or underinsured. Even Institutions with funding and resources to collect “Big Data'' fail to determine how to best manage and incorporate analytics into their operations.
Despite the development and implementation of Electronic Health Records to better utilise the data, they lack uniformity and raise alarming concerns with keeping the records secure from misuse, identity theft and hacking.Public policy hasn’t kept up with the demand for interoperability, information exchange and data sharing, creating an obstruction for innovation. Moreover, in innovative research practices that integrate EHR, Consumer and Genomic data for developing individualized treatment models in learning health systems, questions arise about reliability, feasibility, replication, scaling, regulation, manufacturing, and costs. Further, technological vulnerabilities like privacy, security, inadvertent algorithmic glitches and data acquisition overreach concerns put these innovations at risk. Data deficiency poses a challenge for the training of these models against samples that fully represent the biological, genetic and ethnic diversity of the populations they are designed to serve.
Given the challenges, here's my
Goals
I want to address the dearth of medical information from the underserved, acknowledging that only a miniscule fraction of the world’s population have viable health records and access to quality healthcare. My interests also intersect with confronting the ethical, legal, socio-economic and technological bumps towards developing interoperable, Machine-based learning electronic health systems - personalized interventions, profoundly altering the landscape of probabilities in terms of highly individualized diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
Roadmap
In pursuit of my objectives, I aim to disseminate acquired knowledge in
3 Components
Developing holistic data science projects, translating coursework insights and diverse literature and research findings into practical applications.
Display detailed case studies of projects to share knowledge, connect with similar minds, offer insights into methodologies and problem-solving approaches.
Contribute to Health Informatics Community by curating informative content on industry trends and supporting Healthcare Data Science enthusiasts with learning materials.
